In trying anything new, my inclination is not to be headstrong or rely on an ego-driven ‘gut instinct’ to show the world how clever I am. That’s not best practice in my opinion.

When you think of financial markets, the stereotypical ‘whizz kid’ like the Michael Douglas character in the film ‘Wall Street’ comes to mind. He uses the downfall of others as rungs on his ladder to success.
